Voluntary Work
Hi my name is Olivia and I am 14 years old. I was wondering if anyone knows of any voluntary/charity work around the Accrington/Oswaldtwistle area,I am interested in most areas of work.I would like to do some voluntary work to help out the community and the people in it although it would also benefit my work experience/CV for future use.

Re: Voluntary Work
Hi Olivia, unfortunately due to your age you will be unable to do any voluntary work due to insurance purposes, by law you have to be 16 to volunteer, my lad is 14 and has enquired about doing some and has been told several time by different people that he has to be 16

Re: Voluntary Work
Thank you, I have done some research and most places say over 16 only but there is a few that do under 16 voluntary work.

Re: Voluntary Work
there are organisations that specialise in youth volunteering such as v-inspired Find a volunteering opportunity | vinspired but also check with the cvs on eagle street as there is loads of peer - mentoring stuff too. do-it.org is a great site too but it's having an upgrade at the moment and won't be back in action until monday. hope this helps you all

Good job she's not over thirty.
She'd face appalling age discrimination. Seeing as the Prince's Trust just target help to 18-30 year olds.
Totally prejudiced against the 31 pluses, who might benefit from their help, and financial grants.

now now (and they do offer stuff to under 18's that is purely for the enterprise programme and you can still get the practical help if you are over 30 just not the funding- that's where hyndburn enterprise trust comes in )

Tut.
Denying funding, from those in desperate need over thirty.
That's outrageous age discrimination, that is.
