the whole area is a monument to the industrial revolution, some of our houses are built from the stone and the flags we walk on came from here.
Never thought of that, and never would have been up there if it wasn`t for you and this site. I`ve had my eyes opened to the beauties of the countryside, not just around here, but wherever I go. I was driving down to Norfolk a few days ago, and it was no longer just boring roads, but I found myself taking in the periphery and I have you to thank for that DM.

Nice of you to say so, but I think as a group we all bounce things off one another, even the "today" thread was a germination of an idea from a chance remark by another member. Also this panoramic thread was started by Restless, so we have him to thank for this imagined thread

I think it must have been the damp grass he was soaking up, I used to work in the grounds of the park in what seems like a lifetime ago. The building in photo one off to the left, derelict now, was my workshop and mess room.
