Exclamation Another guessing game

Right, lets see how good you all are on this one. The only four-storey property I am aware of in Accrington

Clue - town centre, can't be seen now, due to market redevelopment

Good luck!

mystery photo

Shucks Beermonster, I am going to have to put my thinking cap on with you, I can see! Well done anyway, but ... how did you know? I have lived in Accrington all my life and OK, it was visible when the old umbrella market was there, and you could cut through from Peel Street, but, most people, I had thought, would NOT have noticed it. I never knew that we had a four storey building in Accrington until I saw that property. It is of course the rear of the Barbara Kay's shoe shop.

Well done also Keith, but .. you have lost me talking about a chipshop on that stretch of Whalley Road.

I will really have to delve into my collection now!!!!

correction Sid brown did not have a chip shop but was a fish monger and my mum spent hours queueing outside his shop during the war but onlythe in mornings as he was soon sold out Sid was one of a group of business men who traded in that area another was George Pearson who had a painting and decorating business in Water street and they all got together at night in The old house at home on melbourne street at weekends of course it was the conservative club
