The original butchers slowly seem to be disappearing. Here is a photo, taken apporox. 1990. Wondered if any of you recognise anyone?

Sorry Atarah, they're all too young for me to remember. Harry Hawkins, from the butchers in the Market Hall isn't amongst them. Not much meat in it anyway (sorry).
However, they look a cut above the rest!!!

The chap in the middle row, third from the left, his surname is Brindle, I used to work with his brother Peter on the buses in the 70s/80s.

Re: Butchers in Accrington Market Hall.
I used to work for Albert (middle row, third from left) as his whipping boy on Fridays and Saturdays, he's a top bloke! One time as I cleaned the front of his stall - next too Cliffs, he shouted of a lady at the pet stall to tell her that I was admiring her bra!!! At the time I was only 17 and blushed like a gud un!!

Hi, I'm Albert Gorton from the picture of the butchers in the market hall. The picture was taken on the North Pier at Blackpool. Have been reading the responses, but sorry, I can't remember who you are "JSMITH". I had quite a few whipping boys who worked for me on Saturdays! Perhaps you could refresh my memory? But I was pleased about your comments.

Re: Butchers in Accrington Market Hall.
Lets go back a little bit further.
1954 - From the centre...............Slingers - Melville Ingham - George Feathers - Thomas Grime X 2 - Jack Lomax - One next to the central door I cant remember.....Joe and Harry Chadwick -+ Dick Gorton - Bacon Stall - Mc Manus 2 stalls - Reg Watkinson.
I worked for George Feathers in the 1950's.
Dick Gorton was a real character and made his living more from transporting meat from the wholesalers to Accrington Butchers than he ever did from selling meat.
Joe Chadwick was a very good slaughterman who worked in the slaughterhouse on Hynburn road.
