Re: Church st church

Thanks Mick,

Give me an hour or two for a proper reply

What have they done over the road.

Where is Canal Street? I remember Muriels Shop being on the corner of cannel street, next door was my aunty Edna's house and then the chippy.

Thanks again mick, fantastic Memories.

Re: Church st church

Didn't the Community Stores use to be Kelly's Fish & Chip Shop? - best chips in Church.

Canal Street was further up, between the Cross Guns and the Thorn Inn (you can tell how I find my way, can't you). One of my classmates at Paddock House lived there, and also there were a family with triplets, Sheila, Ann and Alan .. amazing what you remember.

Sally Hogan's newsagents was almost across the road from Kellys. Early Saturday evening it would be packed with men picking up their "Pink". There was a barbers, as well - was it Mr Douthwaite?
