Yes but we don't like to tell everyone about it or it will get too busy.

Bet you walked past my house to find it.

Re: Foxhill Bank Oswadtwistle

Excellent Mr K. Well worth taking the time to view and study. I did come over last year to look at the site but couldn’t find it. Daft as it sound it was at that time some years since I’d been in Ossy.

Please do more of these photo profiles of the area Tony, they really are a snap shot of the present and a record of what will become our past. Again excellent…..I know you’re not keen to ask people but this is very much justification for people making donations to keep projects like www.kipax.com going.

Re: Foxhill Bank Oswadtwistle

I’d like to see more Heritage themes covered. One area I’d like to see covered is the remains of the water storage areas like the lodges and reservoirs. There must be loads of remains like banks, weirs, Sluices, pipelines and gates left.

I love to see coverage of the Hyndburn River and its lesser Accrington Brook. You might try to get access too areas like the underground system. Tunnels, Culverts and the like. I’d love it.

Even themes like Tinkerbelle’s “Name the Stream thread” How good would it be to have these areas covered so that the ex pats could see what we’re on about and spark a light in those areas of their and our own dimming memories…

That should keep you occupied for a while.

Hyndburn river is a must... As is the Lancaster canal from the borders of hyndburn and everyhting that goes off it... properly documented by bridge as each bridge should have a unique number)

Great photo of the heron.

It's in the same place every morning, from where I watch it in my bed.

I don't know where it goes later, but it's gone by the time Trisha has finished it's vamooshed. I don't know if the two facts are connected.

At the bottom of the steps you photographed, funding has been secured for a new viewing platform, after the last one was set on fire by idiots.

This one will be vandal proof.

Yeagh I saw signs of missuse all over the place.. shame.. But my main point in all of this is... who knew? how many people in ossy even know its there... There are other places of interest in Hyndburn that people don't know about.. I aim to bring them to the internet at least (or at first)

Re: Foxhill Bank Oswadtwistle

I think most people in Ossy know it's there, besides the park it's one of the view green spaces to walk in the town centre.

It's fairly well used and has a big volunteer group who help with the maintenance of the nature reserve. The rubbish that is never emptied from the bins by the gates makes me want to weep. The picnic area in Ossy, off Haslingden Road, has it's rubbish/litter collected twice weekly, Foxhill is lucky if it's twice a year.
