Have you tried either of these?

Re: Sacred Heart Church

Please could someone tell me, whats happening/happened on the site where the church used to be.

I used to love the baby/kiddy section at the back. Used to go in there so I didn't have to pay full attention to the mass.

Re: Sacred Heart Church

This thread has brought back some memories for him indoors. Early in 1957 while he was working on Paddock House School – they were having a new classroom built - he was sent to the house where the Priest for the Sacred Heart Church lived to do some minor renovations.

He remembers the priest Father McAvoy (spelling ?) who walked from the church to Paddock House School every morning, whatever the weather – although he would have been about 70 or so.

When he knew that we were about to get married, Father McAvoy gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate. A lot of water (and wine) gone under the bridge since then.....

Thankyou. A shame the church is gone. I guess I just feel bad when parts of our childhood disappear. For example the Paddock House old school is gone.

It just reminds me that sooner or later we will all be gone.
