Ours always stays on the lead. She would create havoc if we let her off, she's a nutter. She tried to go on the ice to play with the ducks, Hubby had to pull her off.

Good advice Cashy .. case the other week where dog had jumped in the water ... owner went in after it and, sadly, drowned. They found the dog later whimpering next to his car.
Anyway, on a lighter note, took a snap of this snowman in Clayton today ... these kids are getting more imaginative ... note the mohican haircut ...

Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009
Love the one of the church Margaret ... you have spotted a good angle which I have never been able to find.
Amazed have not bumped into you ... seems (due to the position of the sun), was probably out and about the same time.

Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009
Kate, I walked round to the back of the Church.......near where the children go into School, to get that shot.
I particularly like the picture of the stained glass windows....the sun was making the picture really show up......and taken from the outside...I have never done that before.
It was about 2ish when I went out and about....I was back home for 2.40......to see to my Lancashire Hotpot for tea.

Dogs are legally supposed to be under control.
As your picture nicely shows not all dogs are under control even when on a lead.
I don't like those long reel out leads. You can not keep a dog under control with them and they are a danger to other people especially small children. My daughter(4) was knocked to the ground by an idiot with one of those a few months ago. The string part was almost the same height as her neck as the dog ran past her and knocked her over with the string.

Re: Snow photos - Dec 2009
If anyone is near by she is reeled in and kept under strict control. There was no one else about at the time. We never let her off the lead and she has to have a run around so that's why we have an extendable lead. Sorry if I have caused you offence with my picture.
