It's worth bearing it in mind as you go about, perhaps seeing shots that could be used for it. Also you can put in 3 photos to the competition.

You may have already seen this, the rules for 2012. You can put in up to four photos. They don't mention categories but last year there were twelve, and presumably the BBC and/or the judges decide which photo goes in which category - twelve as they are going to make a calendar from the winners.

Dave I think that is the best attitude to approach it with. You don't want to end up like some of those miserable whingeing sods who commented. Not that you ever would or could!

Dianne that photo you posted of the tree in the snow is worthy of any competition.

Just re-read this year's rules and there is only one category, or theme - Walk on the Wild Side. Would have suited Davemac very well!

Re: Today in pictures

A few out-takes from yesterday. The tree which has been attacked by some kind of caterpillar was fine a few weeks ago - now it's almost dead!

A couple of closer shots of DiG's favourite creatures too!

That is the weather we come to accept in Scotland, even in April, two days after it was almost gone and the sun shone warmly.
No fun when the drive is blocked though and we had to get the farmer next door to hack away at the tree with his chain saw.

The tree is on the lawn of Lord and Lady Vaux's mansion, they own the cottage we rent in their grounds.

Gorgeous place - all that snow,am feeling positively chilly now! Think I'll go and put the kettle on for a brew to warm up

We get plenty of snow here in the winter being near to The Alps -lovely stuff -makes me revert to being a six-year old every time it comes

Re: Today in pictures

The home of Lord and Lady Vaux and the fire in the cottage.

The cottage is the other side of the house, the wood and coal are there in a shed by the big house and we were told to help our selves.

Re: Today in pictures

Oops, thanks for the warning Susie, I got carried away, I had four more to post after dinner.
I am a member of a Commercail vehicle engineering forum and we put dozens on a day sometime, all via Photobucket.
At least I have stopped using Photobucket on here since Neil sent me to the naughty corner.
