First four pics are our experience of an Italian storm as promised for Di the other day.
The rest are from earlier today - we had a visit from the Red Arrows as part of this weekend's seaside festival here in Morecambe. I took these pics from the bedroom window. Richard was upstairs just above taking pics out of the velux roof window on the top storey. He's got some nice closeups taken with the zoom on his horrid big heavy camera. Might post some another day if posting someone else's pics isn't cheating...
1 The campsite near La Spezia on the coast north of Pisa in the evening of arrival, mid-September 2009. The name of the campsite is Camping River...
2 The scene on awakening next morning - I say awakening, we hadn't had much sleep thanks to the storm
3 Richard (in red anorak) visiting our next door neighbour
4 Richard returning to our motorhome - just visible through the window glass and the rain
5-10 Red Arrows, lunchtime today. Note the birds on the left getting in on the act in the last pic

I love hearing the rain on a caravan/camper roof!
What was the occasion for the red arrows flypast? Lucky to catch them so well...

Yes - but perhaps not all night long as it was on this occasion. It's nice in a tent too...
The Red Arrows were part of the seaside festival, a weekend of entertainment which as far as I can see has b all to do with the sea - mainly pop groups on a stage about a mile away which I can hear as I'm typing this, plus the planes and a few other things down by the Midland Hotel. Doesn't float my boat at all but they have it every year. They also have a kite festival and a sandcastle festival plus other "music" festivals during the summer.

More Lakes shots -1-8 a walk up Place Fell near Ullswater then 2 shots from other walks in the area to show dark skies. It's amazing how the weather changes when you're out -you have to be prepared. No7 shows Broherswater as seen from Place Fell, path to Hellvelyn to the left.

some pics from my recent visit to Llandudno.
1) Little house high up on the Great Orme.......great views, but not a place to be in the winter.
2) Kite surfer - seen on the West beach.
3) going down - the kite surfer sinks into the sea.
4) View from the Orme Tram.
5) The Esplanade at Llandudno - seen from the tram.
6) Number 4 Tram - going up the Orme...we were coming down on Tram 5
7) young girls on West beach....given a sepia treatment and a black border
8) Tram number 5. Given the Sepia treatment....wish the tram drivers were in Victorian costume.

Last time I was in Llandudno Margaret i think i was about 13. We had a lovely week weatherwise. Looks like it hasn't changed much - except for the modern watersports.
Nice pics. Love the shot of your girls on the beach -Jack Vettriano style! Timeless in the seppia colour...

I took quite a few pics of people on the beach.........I like the unposed look.....they didn't know they were being taken......and I couldn't ask them as I was too far away.......behind the sea wall, and a very pebbly stretch of beach.
Have a look at my flickr pics. Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing
There are more.

I was in Llandudno last weekend. My wife was feeling just about well enough to go away so I managed to get a last minute booking in a little cottage at Nant Y Glynn near Old Colwyn, five minutes for the sea. We have friends and relations there and they took us to Llandudno for a meal but we didn't get chance to look around. I take a little mobo scooter in the car for my wife and she really enjoyed herself whizzing along the prom at Rhos, it did her a power of good.
The only photo I took were at Rhos on Sea and the cottage where we stayed, it's the first on the left opposite my car.
