I am still playing 'catch up' with this thread.
I have a few pics to post. Not taken today, but taken over the last few days.
You all know how I like sunsets......I have had a feast of them.....to many to put on here.
1) The sun slipping down into the horizon.
2) Last golden rays filtered by the framework of the pier.
3) I never really knew what this structure was - turns out it was part of the pier...gilded with sunset
4) Lytham Windmaill and the expanse of green - unencumbered by structures this time.
5) Last light filtered through the clouds.
6) Bee on a flower - Seen in Ashton Park.
7) Silhouette of a young lady walking on the prom.
8) Statue on the War Memorial in Ashton Park. I really like this memorial. Will post more pics another day.
That is my offering for today. If you would like to see more...there are more pics on my Flickr page.
8) Statue on the War Memorial in Ashton Park. I really like this memorial. Will post more pics another day. Thats a very good photo, has me puzzled though never seen ammo pouches on a shoulder belt like that before, and the top fastening on his webbing gaiters is a new one on me. Where exactly is Ashton Park. Retlaw.
Ashton Park is in St Annes.
I don't know how old the statues and the friezes are, on the monument, but the soldier looks very 'present day'....not at all in the style of the second world war era.
Churchfcrules........I'm glad you liked the sunsets.......and I didn't really have a 'wobble on'.........I was in an exposed(weatherwise) position and it was a bit breezy.
I have some more of these in a similar vein.......I will check if they are the same.
I have a little tripod(gorillapod) but there was nothing suitable to anchor it to to get the same viewpoint.
I don't mind constructive criticism. It is how we learn and improve.
Many thanks Dave for posting that link.

I'm wondering if perhaps the statues are newer than the actual obelisk...Haven't read your links Sue.

More for you Retlaw.
All the pictures are of the War Memorial and the friezes around the base.

I will enjoy doing that...but later, then I can read them in peace.
not just catching up on here...catching up on housework too.......I load of washing in, and one more load to go in when that is done...dusting and vac-ing to be done too.
Shouldn't really be here.
