Love them all Dianne....but did no-one tell those chaps playing chess that they would get piles from sitting on the cold stone?
I hope you had a lovely break away....I know I did, but it is the back to reality that spoils it.

some more from my wanderings.
1) The Mosaic in the Square at Lytham.
2) A little boat at anchor in Lytham.
3) Street art along the prom at Cleveleys........birds roosting on the sculpture. Not a fan of street art, but I liked this
4) Looking down the main drive to the War Memorial in Ashton Park.
5) The Pavilion in Ashton Park......the food in there was delicious.
6) Dancing in the Park - youngsters dancing to the music from the open air Art/ Music festival.
7) One of the dancers from the festival........I always thought that Morris dancing was a man's domain, but the ladies did a damn fine Morris dance.

Break was perfect -much needed. Glad yours was too...just off to have a look at your latest pics.
As to the chess players they never noticed me taking their pics -far too engrossed in the game. Their choice, to sit on the stones steps -note traditional benches in the background with wooden seats! I love the life in Italian squares - behind the players was a little fish stall in the corner and everyone is just going about their business...

Morris dancing is a male domain - and should be - but you can't keep the ladies down and there are a lot of women's teams now - plus, horror of horror - some mixed sides.
And very good they were too.
Ma and I spent a lovely afternoon in the park......sunning ourselves and taking in the varied views.......oh yes, and we had a very large slice of Coffee cake just to put us on to dinner.
Hadn't spotted the K Dianne.......Many thanks, just glad you like the pics.

Today to counteract Di's sunny scenes and Margaret's lovely holiday pics, some churches from northern latitudes.
1 Mosfellskirkja church near Reykjavik, Iceland. Nobel Prize winning author Halldór Laxness lived in the Mosfellsdalur valley. The farm on which he was raised now is the site of this church built in 1965
2 The church at Longyearbyen on the Norwegian island of Spitzbergen in the Svalbard archipelago
3 The Russian orthodox chapel in the Russian mining settlement of Barentsburg on Spitzbergen
4 Methodist church in Tromso, Norway
5 Tromsdalen Church (Tromsdalen Kirke), in Tromso, also known as the Arctic Cathedral, built in 1965. The church is actually a parish church and not, in fact, a cathedral
6 Close up of the church above from across the water
7 Borge church, Lofoten Islands, Norway. The church was built to echo the slope of the nearby mountain
8 Closeup of the church
9 Wooden Stave church ´Busknes Kirke´, Gravdal, Lofoten Islands, taken from the cruise ship as we were leaving the island. Looks like a pagoda!

Lovely composition and colours, great cobbles too!
Shame the weather intervened after...

Tromsdalen reminds me a bit of a two-man tent for some reason...

A day out in Bardolino - some lovely features in the buildings but it was heaving with folk, really hot and a bit to touristy for my liking. Enjoyed the boat trip getting there though it was too windy to take any pics out on the lake...

Ooh, just lovely. I would be running around with my camera, not knowing quite what to snap first. I don't mind touristy...especially when there are such lovely buildings and sights to capture.

You would have had a field day then as i was hampered quite a lot by a grumbling "other half". Do you drive your husband mad as I do mine I wonder? He thinks I'm bonkers with this photography "bug" -hasn't even got the patience to look at the pics I take -not interested...can't understand why I photograph door-knockers or steps or anything really! He did actually take one shot of me in the whole holiday -under duress -though it came out quite well.
I had to be very patient to get some of the shots in Bardolino as there were so many people milling around!
