Re: Today in pictures

A few more things spotted on the canal at Lancaster

1 Wouldn't be the canal without some ducks
2 Out of focus, tried to sharpen it up, not wonderful, just love the composition and the ducks sailing past the pub tables
3 Prepared for all transport eventualities
4 The boat in no 3 seen from the bridge, with a grass roof used for storage
5 Another boat with bikes
6 Got to keep warm in winter
7 Not as impressive as the ones at Ossy, but we're doing our bit
8&9 These girls said they were going to be out for four hours. Hope it didn't rain!

I wonder if the boat driver knew he has picked up a naval mine on the roof in picture 6.

Re: Today in pictures

Today in Pictures, will I get wet?

1. They are preparing to start up the sausage knotting machine ready for sausage dancing Friday.
2. The birds should have a good autumn of food, ready for winter.
3. It looks like I could get wet, I've only got a teeshirt and flip flops on, no pants, just a teeshirt and flip flops.
4.They said it was open plan when I rented it for the weekend.
5. Lets have a look whats through the square window.
6. It could be the Serengeti.
7. I think we should up the pace a bit.
8. Almost home, it only seems 5 minutes since these trees were bursting buds to start the year.
9. The colours of Autumn.
10. More Autumn colours.

There we are back home, and didn't get wet.........did get a police caution though. Apparently it illegal to wear one red and one blue flip flop...Ood a thowt it.

No. 1 they are the frame ends for a 10 colour printing machine, looks like one from Steiners circa 1900, one of the printing roller mounts is missing on the left.
Lang Bridges made several different Colour printers for Steiners

Wondered why it was a bit on the small side for a colour printer,
the ones Langs made for Steiners were for printing on cloth & were much bigger.
Don't remember Broadleys being one of Lang Bridges customers.

But have it your own way, I would just like to see it knotting sausages

Another holiday ? you never once asked us if we were coming. Lovely shots, the lake side shot close to the waters edge, my favourite.

The first one? It's my favourite too - not a posed model just someone who was there by chance as I passed by! Really captures the feeling of the place...

Re: Today in pictures

Well I can't compete with Garda but here's the Lancaster canal again.

1 The canal basin
2 The Water Witch pub, floral display
3 The pub looking towards the footbridge
4 Pub and hospital chimney from the footbridge
5 Pathway on to the canal from the A6, with old part of the hospital behind, this is where I go for treatment
6 White Cross complex with St Peter's RC cathedral
7 Purple boat with white flowers painted on it
8 Boat with a big bum
9 Old warehouse at White Cross
10 Long shot of 9
