What lovely shots Dawn! I am a real fan of trees so really appreciate these. Great lighting colour and composition -wish I had taken them!

Yes, they are really beautiful......it almost looks too pretty to be Clayton.....and I don'tmean that to sound derogatory.
When we live in a place, I think we become a little bit blind to the beauty of it.
Thank you for helping me see the wood through the trees

Thank you kindly for the lovely comments, much appreciated and very encouraging. I too am a fan of trees and am so fortunate to live with the woodlands right on my doorstep so I can view and appreciate their splendor every time I walk out the door.

Thank you Margaret, and I am so happy that they have been inspirational for you. I agree, one does become a bit complacent with the beauty that surrounds us and this is why I try, through my photography, to remind people of what we have in front of us. Clayton is a beautiful place with so much splendor on offer. I love it here.

Thanks Dave for the kind comments, the sun was definitely in my favour yesterday. It was a brilliant day for photography, and today isn't too bad either, so I am off out again with my camera. Hope to get some more pics today.
All comments are most welcome and much appreciated.
This is a great thread and I love popping in here to see other folks photos.
Hello everyone yes I'm back from my travels safe and sound if a little exhausted. Got about 1000 pics to sort through so will bore you with ten a day for a while! This first batch are before we got going on the ship, we stopped overnight in Woodstock near Oxford on our way to Dover and I took a few snaps of Blenheim Palace which is there.
More tomorrow...
Imposing gatepost at Blenheim Palace
It was a very misty morning - shame about the ticket box on the main drive
The building from the other side, with autumn colours
Startled lion in the courtyard
More autumn colour on a building in Woodstock
First sight of the ship at Dover
Loading supplies for the voyage
The last of England - with Dover Castle on the hill
No it's not Monet but a sunrise over the Bay of Biscay through a wet porthole
Rain in the distance and the wash from the ship

Nice start, it will take you 100 days to post all the pictures, so put a flask up and some sandwiches, its going to take a while.

Welcome back Sue. I like the sunrise through the port hole...very impressionist.
Hope you had a great time on your travels.
