I am enjoying my visit to Madeira......I have never been there, but I have eaten the cake (sorry I'm being silly).
Actually the cake they have in Madeira is more like Parkin with candied peel in it - on our coach trip we had some, along with a huge slice of the sort we make over here. Very filling!
I brought one back for our neighbour and what did she turn up with to welcome us home? An apple cake! I haven't given the Madeira cake to her yet.

Today in Pictures. was one of those days when, after it is all over, you think "that was a spanking walk"
1. Such a nice day, Dean Clough Reservoir is favourite.
2. I was going to say not a cloud in the sky, well just two overhead.
3. I had a mooch up a gully.
4. Heading up the far side, done this shot before, but not in brown.
5. The sun was low in the sky giving long shadows and sharp colours.
6. Seagulls taking a moment to reflect. (see what I did there)
7. The sun was going down, this is the length of lower Dean Clough reservoir.
8.As we sat there, Bobert and I, the sun was dropping below the hill.
9. This was as we set off back to the car before it was pitch black.
10. Last shot before we crossed the road, back to the car.
Decided to go for a walk after work today, so headed off into The Woodlands in Clayton-le-Moors with my camera before collecting child from the minder on't way home, which by that time was going dark.
Dave...those pics are stunning...absolutely stunning.
Dawn...loved yours too...subtle, understated, but beautiful.
Loved the 'sparkle' in 2 and 10.

Hiya Dave,
Great set of photos there, looks like you had an enjoyable walk. I absolutely love the sunset photos .... I'm a sucker for sunrise and sunset photos and love the colours and composition you have captured in the last 3. Also like the low angle of the reservoir in #7, and the reflection in #6.
I wondered if that was how the effect had been achieved.......it makes for an eyecatching shot.
