Sorry about the chocolate...at least looking at it won't expand your waistline

A selection of snowy pictures from my walk this morning.
I think the tracks in the snow may be a foxes.
There's a wood-pigeon in a maple tree - not quite a partridge in a pear tree but close
It's lovely when the weather suddenly turns snowy without the snow turning to slush as it usually does here.
Looking at your robin pictures - do you feed your birds? We've just bought a 20k sack of black sunflower seeds for the hungry little so and sos in our garden!
1. Can you hear a whooshing noise, turn the telly up a bit more.
2. 3. & 4. hands and knees shot of moist mosses.
5. Lichens up a tree.
6. The frost must have missed these, they normally go all mushy when frosted.
7. I am told fairies live under that bridge.
8. I turn left here.
9. Why are the steep bits always uphill.
10. Its going dark, time to find the car.
Today's freezing shots - the Alps have come back into view!
The same view as before and a couple of variations - the little village is Marzalengo.
Sara the horse trainer was taking the horse for exercise in the Arena -out of shot.
Frozen tractor tracks -all very crunchy underfoot.
The last shot looking into the sun through the trees is a bit eery!
To answer your question Sue -having cats I don't feed the birds normally. But in this freezing weather I do put stuff out for them as the cats aren't going outside at all -the nearest they get is looking out of the window! They spend most of the day sleeping in the warmest spots in the house. The little robin is very clever -he always arrives when I go out after lunch to shake out the table cloth in the courtyard in front of the house then he feasts on the breadcrumbs!

Lovely shots again from Dave - they have me thinking of David Bellamy! Can just imagine him enthusiastically getting up close to that vegetation...Really like the colours in the sunset.
Bury market looks nice and traditional -no comments about the chocs except to say my favourite hand-made ones are violet creams!

Oh yes...I like violet creams...and rose creams come a close second.
Same here - had some last April in Windermere. Lovely choc shop there on a corner -I waited outside with my friend's new Cocker Spaniel puppy while she took her daughter in to choose something. Couldn't move for people stopping to admire Patch -he's lovely! My friend surprised me with a little box of 4 chocs -2 violet creams and 2 roses - we scoffed them all immediately!

Today in Picture, a frosty experience, it makes me want to roast my chestnuts.
1. Frost on a Sedge.
2. Frost on grass.
3. Grass in a frozen puddle.
4. Grass seed head, frozen in time.
5. Frost on a gate post.
6. Upper Dean Clough Reservoir.
7. Droplets frozen.
8. Looking down the length of both reservoirs.
9. The sun is getting low in the sky, time to head away.
10. Bottom of the reservoirs looking up along the length.
I like the contrast of monochrome foreground and colour in the background of no6.
I would like to say it was by design, but really it was just of those snaps that only other people can see whats in it, I hadn't noticed until you said. thank you.
