Great set of shots -can feel the cold wind blowing. I especially like the breaking wall(5) and the tree (6) -glad to see you kept out of the water today -would have even frozen the barnacles!
Things go wrinkly if I get too much exposure to water.
i took one of the bus station because supposedly theyre supposed to be demolishing it ... and thought when i go back in 6 months it might not be there ....
Today in Pictures. Living in the shadow of Pendle.
A selection of landscapes as I walked down to Fosters swing bridge on the canal, and back across the fields. Mostly Pendle Hill in the distance with one of Hapton Quarry and one of the field we were about to cross.
“Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness.” ~ D. H. Lawrence
Today in Pictures, I did it, I finally got the last panopticon, I can now claim my 2000 nectar points and a bag of humus.
1.Upon entering Corporation Park, I found this with all its windows intact.
2.There are a lot of uphill bits first.
3. Ta Dah,
4. It was built to accommodate two Russian Cannons seized in the Crimean war. and was there when the park opened in 1857.
5. The highest point.
6. The view across Blackburn.
7. Heading back down.
8. There is a fence around this lake, so I am unable to wet my trollies.
9. Smaller lake, with another fence.
10. Just before we turn around, and exit the side gate.
Its a conversion of an old cannon bank, they cut out a section for the steps up, and a platform to view the area from. Have to say it did not impress, but it was a good view.
The links were interesting, and they showed the original cannon placements. although I have now got the set of panopticons so am not likely to visit again anytime soon.
