Re: Today in pictures

Today in Pictures, ring a ring a reservoirs, well one actually.

1. The Larch are trying to burst out.
2. Down the road to Calf Hey.
3. Found it, although there is not as much wet stuff as when I was here last. It was only a wheel that I turned.
4. One of the streams that feed Calf Hey.
5. A nice place to sit and get your Hobnobs out.
6. There are a lot of forms with name plaques in remembrance around the reservoir, I never realised walking around here was so dangerous.
7. Another feeder point.
8. A gate post to a long gone set of buildings.
9. Another set of gate posts.
10. Who lives in a house like this, lets go through the key.........oh, it hasn't got one.

Re: Today in pictures

Today in Pictures, it was sunny when we set off, and sunny on the drive back however, the bit when we were out walking it pickled it down.

1. Larch, new bits.
2. Larch again, different new bits.
3. They have levelled a large area of trees, and this lot sprang up.
4.Lichen, wet through.
5. Another Lichen, this time vertical, but still wet through.
6. Half way up Birdy Brow.
7. Due to the weather, this was as far as we went up.
8. Just a pose for a moment, then downhill.
9. Wet, and ready for home.
10. Still wet, and even more ready for home.

Re: Today in pictures

Today in Pictures, not a day for one huge excursion, but a few small tootles. The weather was lousy so close ups my only option, but my joy as well.

1.&2. Early Cherry blossom. This one is pinker than the normal colours.
3. Lungwort, all Mercer Park.

4.Foxhill Bank, cowslips.
5. Before.
6. After.
7. Another Cherry, they are bursting out all over the place, that's what the wife says about me.
8. Marsh Marigold, closed as its raining.
9. Cherry getting wet.
10. another wet cherry..............................space left to insert your own punchline.

Re: Today in pictures

Great photos Dave -love the cowslips especially, quite a rare find. Glad to see spring is moving along over there. Here April is living up to it's name and we are getting wet through!

Spring has started but slowly, There are a lot of the early cherries flowering, the large double types are just colouring up. I am waiting for the bluebells to start so I can re-visit all my woodland walks.

It is the same here with the rain, but it is showers rather that an all day event.

Re: Today in pictures

Today in Pictures, a lot of stuff starting to flower at ground level, so I walked around Spring Wood like Quasimodo, not to help with the photos, I just like doing it.

1. Coltsfoot.
2. Last years seed head.
3. Its a Wood anemene...a Wood Anemmany.....a Wood Anamemamy.....A White flower.
4. Another white flower...........(wood anemone)
5. Cowslips.
6. Its a Bluebell.
7. A fierce looking fern frond.
8. I think I should think of heading down the hill.
9. The Larch.
10. I don't know why (possibly) but Lambs come running over to see Bob, and have done at a few other locations.
