Today in Pictures, another of those elastic walks, I went out for an hour, it ended up as two plus.
1. A blue carpet.
2. And a bit more.
3. The start of the wet bits.
4. Ransoms, and a wet bit.
5. Hold my coat mother, I'm going up.
6. As you know Marsh Marigolds grow in wet conditions,.............through the lace holes if you are interested.
7. I can see right up your trumpet.
8. Everywhere you look, colour from the herbage.
9. A little gem of a walk today.
10. I must drag myself away, I have to get home and strain the humus
Just a short walk in the woods behind Wilson's Playing Field.
1. Another Bluebell shot.
2. Also another Pinkbell shot.
3. The woods.
4. More woods.
5. Wilson's Playing Field with Pendle Hill in the distance.
6. Back to the woods.
7. And to finish off, more woods.

Beautiful close-ups of the flowers -it's all looking lovely and green now. Look forward to seeing some more shots of the Woodlands if GPick gets there with his dogs and camera
I have happy memories of the Woodlands as I often got a "Get out of School free" card at junior school (St Mary's) as my best friend Andrea had terrible hayfever and this time of year she often got sent home and I had to accompany her -we lingered in the Woodlands on our way to her house despite the hayfever!!

There are two sections to the woodlands, the official woodlands area that runs alongside Whalley Road. It contains the stone, and wood carvings, and the paths are tarmaced. Then there is the wooded area that runs around the outside of Wilson's Playing Field, you can walk all around the playing field keeping to the woods and end up back at the start point. So it can be a bigger walk than you would think at the start point.
Yesterday evening saw the start of the annual Literature/Music festival in Cremona which will be on all weekend. The weather stayed fine after a stormy week and the following are a series of photos showing the event. The festival is called Le Corde dell'anima -which means "The Chords of the Soul" and combines literature with music.

I did get up there, but it`s so difficult to get decent pics when one of them just doesn`t stop still for more than a couple of seconds and the other always has his tongue hanging out, but here are the best of the ones I took today. The last one wasn`t in the woodlands, it was on the way home past rishton waterfalls.
They`re a nightmare sometimes. Great fun mostly, watching them run around places like this sniffing out their toys you`ve hidden is just amazing, they`ve never missed one yet.
