1. Next years thistles are on the move.
2. Not going that way, it's a bridge too far.
3. More seeds for next year.
4. This stream is flowing over a shale bed.
5. I don't know the name of this stream, but it travels under the motorway shortly.
6. If my socks aren't wet, I'm not enjoying myself.
7. Looking back down the site.
8. This plant was tucked away in the trees, and covered in peacocks.
9. One of the Peacocks.
10. The R.S.P.C.A. located in Altham.
It's the overflow for the reservoir.Usually the water is flowing into it and away down the other side of the dam. The water level has been down for quite a while.

Its an unusual shape, I have seen them as towers with a walkway out to it but not a circular structure.

Lovely stream shots - and well done capturing the butterflies!
Well back to my favourite subject, things with engines and wheels.
Sunday saw me at the Ormskirk Motor Festival.
I got there early before the crowds, as you can see by the first photo it got very busy later.
I had a good walk around taking photos and then got my head down in the car until two PM. That's when they closed the roads and grouped all the vehicles into four different sections and let them loose around the town, making as much noise as possible.
The last photo is of the thing that makes the noise.
I took about fifty photos and if there is anybody not too bored with motors I can post ten more tomorrow.
im still sorting out the photos I took yesterday .. I went for a wander down bash lines with the tedster ... near enough all the way to accrington ... cos he hasn't had a 'proper' walk for a bit ... the poor dog was shattered by the time he got back ... but heres the starters ...
first three are in my garden .. the rest along bash lines or hyndburn greenway if you want to give it its posh name ... managed to catch a butterfly yesterday (in no 7) and the whicker statues they put up along the way ... the stag and the owl .. but couldn't see the dog walker .. I think that has been taken away its head had fallen off .. and dave theres another one further on down the way which I think has just been put up .. (haven't sorted that yet .. will put it up later and its in a tree)
Thanks for posting them shillelagh, I have found out two things today, firstly Tedster is a dog, I thought it was a child up to now, secondly what the track of the old line to Stubbins looked like. You can see the remains of the old platform at Stubbins from the Rawtenstall to Heywood train on the East Lancs Railway.

Great Pics again Russsell. There was a vintage vehicle gathering at Bibbys Coaches in Ingleton on Saturday. I was going until something cropped up at home.
I do like number 2...what a great shot........not that the others aren't great too...but that pic just grabs me.
