Heard that you'd had 4 inches of rain in 4 hours -the pics give a good idea of what that means. You were very intrepid Dave - hope you haven't caught a rotten cold with having wet feet, or worse, that it's given you trench foot!
Not sure about the water "thing" because as a child I was very reluctant to get in the tin bath in front of the coal fire.
But now I am drawn to water, either the canal or waterfalls, and yes we had a months rain in 24 hours.
As you can see by the pictures, the Clough I was wading through had lost its footpath completely, and was blocked by fallen trees.
Coincidentally Frank after you posted the pics of Max we were off to a dog agility event at the Westmorland showground near Kendal. A friend of ours was there with his young dog Jessie aka Caledonian Flier (Paul's Scottish) who is a small smooth haired collie with very long legs. Never been to anything like this before and it was a lovely day weatherwise. Lots of collies of course but many other kinds of dogs as well. Not many action pics but a few of various pooches.
1 The car park - we must have arrived at a dog show
2 Walking the course
3 Waiting to perform
4 I'm hungry too!
5 One of Dougal's relatives I think
6 Our friend Paul and his dog Jessie having some down time together
7 Clouds over the showground
8 More clouds with garden gnome in rh corner wearing his best hat
9 The sky in this direction looks a bit threatening - perhaps this is for shelter if it rains
10 We did see some action!

As you say what a coincidence. Were there not many people there? What a nice place for agility

It was apparently a very big event so I'm told Frank and it's on next weekend as well. People and dogs from all over - the car next to us in the car park was from Ireland and there was a very big campsite. It's on tomorrow too. And it was free to get in and park for us as visitors!
1 This wind's given me a parting
2 Do I look better from this side?
3 I just love greyhounds
4 A red merle collie
5 Phew! I made it - thank goodness that's over!
6 Paul and Jessie won a prize!
7 Jessie wants to stay up here
8 Just for Davemac - a cockerpoo. Apparently he's a poser just like Bob
9 Dog hotel or prison? You decide
10 Dogs and humans on the horizon as we were leaving the showground

I thought today would be a slow day due to weather, well done all contributers, and now here is mine, stuff you have seen before, only the season has changed. Part 1. Today in Pictures, towpath revisited.
1. Start point, will I get wet.
2. How does that live there!
3. Steps to a wet experience.
4. Barging about.
5. Does my barge look big in this.
6. Must be a convoy, heres another. Chase me.
7. Looking a bit "dickey".
8. Thats the way I came.
9. Someone fired a starting pistol, hes hiding.
10. All the buttercups have been harvested for cough medicine.

11. I'm in the cemetery.
12. You wouldn't want that on the end of your nose.
13. To the top of Bell Lane.
14. The bridge we walked over.
15. This thing has been following me all afternoon.
16. Almost home, I can see Darwen Tower from here.
My start point is the bridge on Blackburn Road. C.L.M. then its either a left turn or a right turn. Right takes me to Altham, left takes me to Church. Thats the start point never quite sure my end destination, once you set off the world is your lobster.

We may meet up one day, Sometimes we park up at Hapton and walk for an hour or so towards Clayton , then walk back.We are going up Glasson Dock tomorrow to walk up the old railway line towards Lancaster.
I forgot to ask. Are these professional teams? We only did agility for fun and put on displays at Summer events within a 20 mile radius of Accy.
No it's an open show run by a local dog training club. Their own website is useless having not been updated since 2010 but browsing the net looking for some info for you I came acros this link
From this you can download the schedule and entry form which should give you some idea of what's involved. Apparently they had to cancel yesterday because it was too windy to run.
