1 Bersaglieri playing at the supermarket in Pavia where we went to buy a few things in the morning (my batteries ran out -just the one shot!)
2/3 Torre Disola and Villa Botta Adorna which is haunted! This is where we stayed overnight.
4 The River Ticino
5 Typical managed Poplar woodland of the area
6 Rice field ready to be harvested
7 Mature rice plants (Arborio rice for making risotto)
8 Bee hives in mixed woodland -spot the cyclist!
9 Looking back over the rice fields to the woods
10 Friends Germana and Annisa who were walking with me - and the mushrooms we found!
Nice varied selection there, A tip for photographing mushrooms, you have to get lower than the top of the mushroom, the hardest part of that for me is getting back up, and I have noticed I am making noises when I get up again.
Today I decided to get on the train to Burnley Central.
The Train stopped at the Burnley Manchester Road station and readied I myself to get off at central station. Quite some time passed and what was with all the scenery? Oops. I then realised that I had got on the wrong train.
Where do I end up? Hebden Bridge. I decided to have a walk around Hebden and wow what a beautiful town it is. Opted out of walking back to the train station and after all you cannot get the train to the central station in Burnley from Hebden and I didn't feel like walk across Burnley.
Took the bus from Hebden. Only for it to break down outside of Todmorden. Had to wait 30-45 mins for another bus to come along. Finally I made it to Burnley. Quick stop at PC World and back to Accy. Bumped into my mum and after seeing her on the bus I then bumped into my Dad going into GiftPrint.
Anyway. I took some photos.
You have ended up with some good pictures there, perhaps you should take a carer out with you next time you go out.
Lovely - the poplars make an abstract design. Huge 'shrooms! I've never been to Italy, but have always wanted to. Your photographs make vicarious travel a pleasure.
Today in Pictures, almost at the end of a quest I didn't know I was on.
1. Heading for the main gate.
2. Found it, Peel Park, gateway to the Coppice.
3. Gaining altitude.
4. The path to the top.
5. At the top, well almost.
6. Trees, town and turbines.
7. Heading away from the face to take the slope down to the car park.
8. I think those turbines are following me.
9. Taking the downward path.
10. A compilation of just a few of the fungi I found.
Photos of the Italo-Spanish wedding I attended in Pavia at the weekend. A very international affair there were guests from Manchester, Copenhagen, Madrid, Valencia and even a girl from the Orkney Islands was there!
1 Spanish steps! A little Spanish girl on the steps outside the chapel
2 The bride and grrom arrived in a Fiat 500
3 Fresco inside the chapel
4 Frescoed ceiling
5 Coriandoli (what we would call confetti in England) ready to shower th bride and groom
6 Someone will have to sweep it all up -hopefully they found the bride's earing which got lost at this point!
7 The reception venue - Gli Orti Borromei
8 My table was "Thyme"- each had a center piece of different herbs
9 Confetti (what we would call sugared almonds!) All the guests receive a gift of these plus a memento which in this case was a small cactus.
10 Pata negra -brought over especially for the reception from Spain
“Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness.” ~ D. H. Lawrence
