Today in Pictures, a day when the clouds threatened to empty its contents, but we managed to get back without incident, although the wind was picking up a speed.
1. This time of year 50% of my pictures are of fungi.
2. Heading down to Dean Clough Reservoir.
3. I have stood here many a time, in the past this area was awash with fungi, this year almost nothing.
4. Home to roost.
5. Standing with the reservoirs to my back.
6. Heading back uphill and through the Pines.
7. For the last few I am down on the floor.
8. The floor of the Pine woods never disappoints, the constant falling needles providing a food source.
9. The colours are very noticeable, despite being under the canopy all of the time.
10. To finish the posting, one I found last time I was here but only at this specific location, and not in any vast numbers.
Today in Pictures was very much a rush to stay ahead of the storm front on its way, the Met office has issued a warning not to go out on high sided concrete bicycles. They have also issued warnings to remove garden furniture to a place of safety, I have no idea what to do with the Settee and gas cooker on the front lawn.
well I finally pulled up the sunflowers .. well not all ..but most of them ... thought I best do .. seeing as we are supposed to get bad weather and plus bst has ended .... it all looks bare now .. except for the rose bush still has flowers coming out ....
Its the runoff pond at Platts Lodge, its the gear that controlled the pond level, and let the water flow into Woodnook Water.
I was kicking my heals whilst she who must be obeyed was at the Doctors (Pals Centre) so went up the path to the lodge and shot up a bit that no one goes up. its difficult to spot when there are leaves on the trees
Thanks Dave, I had an idea where it was but not sure. My late uncle used to be the boilerman at the velvet factory on Victoria Street and we used to play round the lodge
