Unless I'm mistaken that statue snapped by GPick is not in Lancashire but just outside Gateshead in Northumberland.

Brings back memories of my student days when I shared a flat in a house at the top of Avenham park - which appears to have been spruced up since my day.

Them white ball thingy's are rader domes originally to track russian missiles during the cold war. I think they are still in operation.

Just realised Jen one of your pics is the bridge right next to the Continental pub by the river. Another one of my student memories - was my local when we lived near there for a while. You didn't venture in by any chance did you... totally changed since my day - I have been there a few times recently.

Great pictures of Avenham Park . A lovely place for walks , especially along the side of the River Ribble .
They bring back memories of my school days when I was at school on Winkley Square .
it was .. even had a picnic in the park .. a butty from M&S and coffee from costa ... and being eyed up by the squirrels ..... didn't start raining till I got off the train in accy ...
