Tried to post these yesterday but had a very unstable connection and gave up in the end...here's hoping today is better.
These are some photos i took in April in and around the village of Dacre near Lake Ullswater -a lovely backwater with a great pub! My 2nd fave house is the one with the smart topiary!
Speaking with my Good Life hat on, I think that little white house in the last pic is a chicken house rather than a beehive. It has a nest box on the back with a lift up lid for collecting the eggs and a wire netting run attached to the front.
A beehive would be smaller, with overlapping sides to make it easy to take the sections apart.

Just had another look -i believe you are right! Hadn't really looked at it that carefully before - the wire netting wouldn't keep the beees in!
But is it white or pale blue -I'm going back for another look!

Beautiful pics Dianne.......they should be on flickr...they would get lots of 'hits'.
Love them all but my favourites........and I can't choose between them, have to be the window, and the white house...pic number 5.
I have to say I agree with that, I like the ones with snow on the tops and lambs in the fields.

That's a toughie Dave, without any scale to go on and no leaves, at first I thought it was our old friend bistort but I've never seen one open that far.
Got the old floras out and I think it's an orchid. Could be Northern Marsh, though most of the pics on the www are much darker pink.
The fern with the spore cases is another textural one......great pics again Dave.
Does your camera work like a magic carpet...you tell it what you want to take and it whisks you off?

sunset at the minute starts about 9.15pm .. roundabout end of august/beginning of september it'll be about 8.45pm ...

I think we probably had a bit less cloud.....you need a bit of cloud to get the purples and the pinks on....a bit like a canvas I suppose.......so Davemac will have some chance to get his Sunset caught.....and before too long.

Nearer to home today - quite a big selection of photos of a walk I did with my Aunt and Uncle a year last August from Newton to Slaidburn and back in a round trip. Beautiful walk, lots to see and a really smashing lunch at the Hark to Bounty in the middle!
See if you can spot some peccadillos in there Dave!!!

Phew- last batch of 10 -was really snap happy on this walk Hope you will have the patience to look at them.
(Wish i could be out walking there now -still can't walk on my bad knee -have had results of scan -seems I have a trauma injury to both lateral ligaments in my knee and liquid in the joint. Will find out Monday what treatment I need.
For now i'm enjoying the excuse to sit and watch Wimbledon!!)
