I had a walk into town today to look round the "flea market",The weather was throwing it down an I noticed the basement area of the market hall was open.
Since I had my camera, I thought it rude not to have a look (an get out the rain for 5 mins )
I know those cellars well. I helped to rewire them in the early 70's when they were being refurbished. We used to watch the mice running down the cable trays.
I love your bird shots GPick - wish I had a good enough camera to take them close up like that. There are egrets , herons and plenty of other bird life just up the lane from where I am -even a Kingfisher though I'd have to set up a hide to ever catch him in a photo! Number 2 is my favourite with the dogs a close second. Dave -great set again despite a poor day weatherwise - they capture the essence of the place -love the sun breaking through the clouds and the texture in 6 -after cobbles, drystone walls are a big favourite of mine!

A selection of local shots - the first ones earlier this week after we'd had really heavy rains and the fields around and river had flooded. The river is canalised for irrigation and all three channels were full - normally the main one is half this level to give an idea of how much rain there'd been. They also came to check the bridge was safe while I was there...There's a shot of fresh-water shells which had been left behind by a heron - there are also fresh-water cray fish as I've seen their shells on the banks before. The last few were taken today showing the contrast in weather -it's cold, sunny and windy - lots of fresh snow on the Alps and it's coming our way in the next few days apparently.

nice collection, 6 especially, nice sky and colours, and for extra measure a soggy bit.
