I think I sort of understand, I wasn't having a dig at you doing it, more what would happen if I did it. So if its open and you can walk in unchallenged and provided you leave when asked to, you are not committing an offence.
Firstly I'm sorry if you found my replie defensive,it wasn't my intention.
Now,As far as I'm aware trespass only becomes a criminal offence if it is aggravated trespass,
which was brought in under http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994/33/contents.
Aggravated trespass takes place when the trespasser trespasses to disrupt or attempt to disrupt any lawful activity taking place on that property or adjoining property.
It is against the law to trespass on any land , river, lake as well as any building.
Ignorance of that fact is no defence under this law.
(Touch wood) I've never really had a run in with the law, although I've read a few posts off folk that have.I don't think it's in the public interest to persue a case for someone taking pics of a building, especially if your a butterfly enthusiast and you saw a rare one fly in,You couldn't miss the chance to snap that pic

I neither found it defensive or anything else, the typed word is very difficult to get the emotion behind it right, just wondered what would happen if I mooched around an open building.

8. I would have a sit down if the wind wouldn't blow me over the back.
9. I think I might be the first to post a daffodil as well.
10. On the way down now.

Thanks Dave, it was a very nice weekend away, 850 miles round trip made it a bit of a drag driving though.
Plenty more pics to sift through after i`ve had a kip.

Agreed Dave - great photos -it's a place I've never visited. I especially like the first two (scanned all the Loch photos -no sign of a monster!) Enviable pic of the red deer...look forward to some others of the area when you've had time to sort through them.

I see what you mean about the trees! Some interesting photos - you do have an eye for the funghi. Lovely to see some signs of spring - I am especially fond of wild daffodils and bluebells.
Here the autumn leaves are all squelchy and slimy underfoot because of the recent heavy rains. It's another mizzly day!

Last year the bluebells were that late it was almost summer by the time they were out, and even then they didn't flower all at the same time, so they went of for a while, but without the impact of large swathes of flowers.
The ground here is saturated, and large areas I walk in are covered in mud and water, we have had a sink hole in Baxenden to the rear of houses (only know what is in the papers) and I think that is a result of all this rain. It was over old mine workings.

Apparently it started in the yard of 536 Manchester Rd.The Coal Authority may not have detailed plans of the workings. You can go to view what they have at the Mining Record Office by appointment. They have a website.
The last thing they will do tho is admit liability for this major subsidence,It becomes a long drawn out legal matter. They are supposed to have historical liability for pre 1947 workings but in practice they will do their best to get out of that liability (No surprise there then).
