A walk I have done many times, although not recently, if you had walked the other way you would have come across the ruins from yesterday.

Today in Pictures, what should have been a short walk turned into almost three hours, and for part of it on all fours.
1. Start point, entrance to Huncoat Colliery site.
2. & 3. The Pussy Willows are spreading pollen.
4. You know what happens if you pick this, moist gusset, I pick them a lot.
5. Guess what I bought.
6.I think the water used to flow over the brickwork until it worked its way under.
7. Notice the steep sides down to the water, when its wet its very slippery, and its wet.
8. The whole side is covered in bluebells, made a note to come back in a few weeks.
9. yes, you guessed, a set of graduated filters.
10. And finally, Coltsfoot with a wickthing.
3 & 5 for me Dave -am suitably chastised. Slapped wrist fully deserved x

It was the "It's time you got it sorted" comment - you are right -I am such a procrastinator at times

A long drive for me today, with a very early start.
1. Here comes the sun.
2. I might have been here before, I recognise the fallen tree i`m stood next to.
3. With overnight frost and morning sunshine usually comes fog.
4. I usually pop in for a brew and cucumber sandwiches when i`m down this way.
5. Looks like a grass fire.
6-10. Not sure if this is helping with the fire fighting, but it was back on forward moving these bags

Nice capture of the Guillemot, never got close enough myself, and I don't know where you were, its not familiar.
Not a Guillemot,Dave it's a Cormorant. The pic was taken near East Marton on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal. We walked from Newton Bank to the Abbots Harbour Cafe at East Marton and back
Today I went off to Hesketh Park.
1) sign detailing the attractions and the walks
2) spring flowers - a carpet of them.
3) A very ornate fountain - alas not working today
4) 'Come on lads, pies have come'......feeding the birds.
5) watching to see if the pies are coming. A congregation of birds.
6) 'One day I WILL catch one of those ducks'......missed again
7) Purple Crocus.
8) Pretty blue flowers. I have to call them that......I don't have a clue as to what they are...but Davemac will be along in a mo.
9) Looking through the trees to the lake.
10) Had a swift blow on the pier before I got the bus back home.
As you can see from the pics the day was very kind. Gave me lots of sunshine. Recharged my batteries very nicely.

Your are right, I get them mixed up , as you say, cormorants hang around Dean Clough Reservoir but I never get close enough to snap.
