Today, we went for a wander around Pendle Hill, the weather was fine to start with, but then...it wasn`t. The clouds came down and so did the rain. If it wasn`t for an Iphone app that tracks your route, I think i`d still be there now.
One of my favourite areas to mooch around, I have walked to that stream from the Sabden end, its a fair old walk from whichever direction you started. Also when the weather turns bad its a very lonely place. You have captured the weather conditions in the clouds, and when its wet it can be a big faff keeping your tackle dry. By the way from the look of your dog in number two, I think its got Rabies.
Today in Pictures. another of those moist moments.
1. Growing vertically, Fairy Foxglove(summer starwort) and Maidenhair Spleenwort (fern) on the wall that used to be the perimeter of the colliery.
2. As its wet and warm the smell is heady, its a sweet earthy perfumy smell. (hawthorn)
3. The invasion into the wild continues, one day these (Spanish Bluebells) will swamp out the native variety by cross pollinating with them and creating a new variety that will overgrow and drive them into small pockets.
4. I call this Fern on a rock.......because its a fern.........on a rock......actually its one of those random remains of the coal mine that was worked here.
5. Both slopes down to the stream are bathed in the blue with dashes of white from the Ramsons.
6. The other slope down to the stream.
7. Ramsons on the waters edge.
8. Looking back down the length of the site.
9. Here we have a shrub doing an impression of a motorbike........Broom...broom broom broom.
10. Here we are at that point where its hard to find a bit that is still dry, and keep my tackle dry.
Again a minor technicality, while actually from yesterday, mitigating circumstances can be found in the blog section.

Today in Pictures, not a day for a prolonged outing for various reasons, so just managed a short walk around the wooded end of Cutwood Park, so no great difference in subjects either.

No complaints from me - they're lovely shots of some of my favourite subjects! I like the vignetting on number 3.

Thanks, I did notice that they are getting past their best, you can tell that in number 2, the leaves have dropped lower to the ground so not many weeks left. I stuck the vignette on just to give a bit of variance.

Had a rather busy few days leading to a sad moment with a poor little orphaned kitten I tried to save - unfortunately he didn't make it. To cheer me up husband took me out into town yesterday evening where an International market was on through the streets -very colourful -lots of pics taken but they'll be for later as they'll take some sorting.
This aft I went for a short walk after a barbecue with friends and took a few pics which are more variations on the theme of Green! Lots of lovely grasses around at the moment and the winter wheat is ripening -the rapeseed field has passed flowering and there are lots of fluffy poplar seeds in the air -drifts of them make it look like it's been snowing!

The first set of 10 photos showing the International market which was on through the streets of Cremona at the weekend. Lots of people around and some great stalls and eating places were available from many different countries - there was a nice buzz to the event. (Tomorrow more of the individual stalls).

I did take quite a lot of photos but it's hard in the middle of crowds as you get people walking across etc, so some of the pictures were spoilt, but as a whole I think that, with the ones I'll post tomorrow, you can get a good feel for the event. Cremona is a lovely backdrop too with the mix of architecture and colours you get.
