Up fairly early today. Hopped on the bus to Southport. Arrived just after 10 am.Lovely sunny day...which meant that the place was soon busting with folk intent on enjoying the sunshine.
1) Fountain in Sunny Southport.
2) Cafe culture. Coffee sitting in the sunshine...what could be better(well...for some it would be a pint of beer)?
3) Guests at a Wedding. Child getting confetti out of her Dad's pocket.
4) A group of Wedding guests having their picture taken before the Bride arrives.
5)The Boating lake. Yes, it really was that blue.
6) Man on the sands.
7) Dog and Fountain - sounds s good name for a pub!
8) the square with the fountain
9) Royal Enfield Motorbike. My clever dickie of a husband said that this was made in India.....after talking with the owner...he was right!
10) The builders mess that is the Cathedral Quarter in Blackburn. I took this from the top deck of the bus.
I hope you enjoyed your visit to Southport with me today...and I hope you will come with me on my next trip...where ever that might be.
I am considering a Seniors Rail card so it might just be a bit further afield.

Di, your second pic is definitely an overgrown building isn't it & not some cunningly trimmed bush?

It is an old silo tower where they used to store feed for cattle - not in use these days. There's another one just beyond the church in the village too which is overgrown in the same way. They are quite interesting features. The Villa entrance with all the roses I posted yesterday is the main house of a very large dairy farm which has buildings and animals scattered through the village - the towers were obviously once used by the farmer.

Its been a great day out. Nice thought cleansing sunny day. It was time for a walk tup coppice and get the Google camera app snapping....
I "did" the Coppice the other week and have some similar photos but on a less clear day. I was very impressed with the management of the woodland area - they seem to be clearing out certain plants to allow more light through to encourage a wider range of plants and flowers. It's looking really good. Will post some of my Coppice ones on a day when I don't get out.
Have been in photographer's paradise today - barbecue with friends who have a little country chalet by the River Po - beautiful weather and so many interesting subjects. Couldn't stop snapping away! Off to have a look through them now.
