Today in Pictures a walk down the Woodlands, and would you believe it there is a lot of wood.
1. A Mirid Bug, I never saw any last year.
2. Proper sneezing fuel.
3. Wood, as far as the eye can see.
4. And a bit further than that.
5. My dog does this occasionally.
6. I think this is the Harlequin Ladybird, the foreign invader that will wipe out the native species.
7. I have never come across it before, and could only see this one.
8. I am not tuned into fungi spotting yet, but just stumbled across this little patch.
9. Could I suggest a little moisturiser.
Today wasn`t what i`d planned, a problem SD card problem ruined this mornings plans, and this evening, well, sometimes nature is not nice to see, if there hadn`t been a happy ending I wouldn`t be showing some of these pics.
1. Trying out a CPL filter, i`ve had it a while but not really used it much.
2. Fishing on the canal.
3. Horses frollicking.
4. Was going to avoid taking pics of birds today, but not seen one of these before, anyone know what it is.
5. Approaching these, I did wonder why they were reluctant to go in the water.
6. The adult goose that did go in the canal was attacked by a swan.
7. As were the rest.
8. And it made a bee-line for the goslings.
9. It did escape though.
10. I threw some stones into the canal to distract the swan while this little one escaped.
And there was another a bit further up the canal the managed to make it back, all eight made it back to mum and dad, swan was one nasty sod though.

You are welcome.....and I think it is a very good shot.
I wish it had been my capture....I would be well chuffed.

Thanks Margaret, I know where it lives now and i`ll be back again for another look, there was also another bright yellow bird around the same place that I wasn`t quick enough for.

Nice photos. Nature is often cruel. Good on you for intervening - I would have done the same
It doesn't seem two minutes you were snowed in , now its blue skies and strawberries
There is a price to be paid, it seems. We get quite a few severe thunderstorms with these sudden temperature changes, and some of them bring Tornado warnings as happened this evening. It's blown over my area now with no damage, but some poor souls to the north of us were not so lucky. No photos, sadly - maybe next time!

You don't realise what extremes of weather other people have to live with, a tornado is not something we have to live with over here.
A selection from today's lunchtime outing with parents - had a patriotic coke for an aperitif at a local bar and then a lovely lunch back at the Locanda Al Carrobbio where we went last week.
