the orange lilies and the foxglove were took on Friday but the rest were took on Saturday when I was tedsitting again ... and he'd already been out for a walk in the morning before he was brought over ... so all of these well nearly all ... were took in my back garden ... the rose is my next door neighbours but one ... and it was poking its head up over the fence and next doors shed ...
What time of year best if I wanted to collect a few? I'm thinking of making a infusion with some and I've been told they can be pretty difficult to find.
Once established they are there all year, but they have more colour in Autumn
Strictly speaking, this is yesterday in pictures.

1) last week it was all sea...this week it is all sand.
2) Flying a kite...well it was breezy enough.

6) Speaking of Lord St......this is it basking in Solstice sunshine.
7) Water and children on a sunny day - they go together like donkey rides and ice cream with seaside

Thanks Margaret! Much appreciated -have been doing a bit of shopping therapy with mum over the last 2 weeks - they're winging their way back to Tenerife at the moment. I love photo number 7 - great colour and you get such a flavour of summer which officially started yesterday!

1. Jackhouse reservoir.
2. Ragged Robin.
3. Red Campion.
4. I call this "Fern on a Stump"........... because its a fern.............on a stump.
5. If the "campers" continue chopping down the trees at the speed that they are, very soon the only trees standing will be the large ones that are to big to attempt with an axe.
6. Nature is watching what we do to the planet.
7. A view over the top of Accrington to Pendle Hill.
8. A Bramble providing food.
9. Its taller than me is this one,.......so it must be over 4' 6".....I never went metric, but from where I stand, that's HUGE.
10. Cranesbill Geranium basking in the sun.
Perfect photos for the Summer Solstice!
Where I live now we can blame fallen trees on beavers. Happily the ones that lived in the ponds near me have departed, but not before felling many trees.
For this morning's toot, I chose to go to a nearby spot popular with tourists, but quiet at this time of day. At least I thought it would be!
Firstly, a few flower shots from mine and my neighbour's garden.
1. Campfire Rose, named after painter Tom Thompson. It's developed to survive our Canadian climate. We'll see!
2.and 3. Peonies
4. Out on the road: speed bump ahead!
5. and 6. Badlands from the side of the road. They're clay deposits layered with shale, I believe.
7. Fun to scamper about
8. What's going on here?
9. Oh dear.
10. A lot of wildlife about at this time of day. I saw a deer on the road (thankfully before we had an altercation with it) and this is a wild turkey.

Lovely flowers and those "Badlands" look very interesting - unusual landscape, haven't seen anything like it before.

I went for a short walk earlier up the lane to see what changes there were - the maize has shot up in the hot weather and the cornfields are ready to be harvested.

I have been very busy building the model mill steam engine lately, now it steams up and runs I have more time on my hands.
I thought I had better get the camera out again before it goes rusty.
The American Road show was on at Leyland so I decided to have a look there.
The axes, knives and sword blades were all real and sharp enough, a few of us tested them. The spikes on the board were also pointed.
Good day out.
There was plenty of American muscle cars, lorries and pickups there, Country music and line dancing.
