Today it was the Freedom of the Borough Parade.
I didn't know about it until i got into town and the barriers were in place in front of the town Hall.
No matter I had my little camera in my bag and here are some pics from the event.
I don't think the pics need any explanations......and I hope you can feel the pride.

PB........shame I have put all my comp entries in I could have put that one in.(now I am going to use it to keep the cats off the lavvy wall).

I had 150 pics when I got home. Haven't resized them all yet, that is why I have put a link on to the Flickr Site.

Frank, sorry you could not be there, it was a very rousing sight, and very well supported too...lots of flag waving school children.

Jen I look forward to seeing your pics later.

Today in Pictures, an early stroll along the canal.

1. I bet this building was essential once upon a day.
2. A big blousy Begonia on Burnley Road.
3. As the buttercups lose their flowers the brown seed heads of the grasses take over.
4. Its that way------->
5. To Err is human.........to Arrr is Pirate........avast behind.
6. The Cinnabar Moth caterpillar on Ragwort.
7. Its a big Thistle.
8. Foster Swing Bridge.
9. Himalayan Balsam.
10. And finally, a shot I have taken many times through various seasons.

Re: Today in pictures

Margaret and Jen, your shots of the event are wonderful! I was inspired by your efforts, and got out to an event myself, camera in hand as you will see.

Dave, lovely shots as always. I really like the begonia - they are special favourites of mine
