Re: Today in pictures

The Tandy TRS 80 had a 5.25 floppy for the O/S and another disk for each program but it was fun to play around with.
I bought it to convert to a Radio packet terminal and built a packet modem into it linked to my 2 metre transceiver which had TX/RX crystals for four freqencies, I fitted LED's in the front panel to show the state of the connection and linked it to a four element beam on my roof.

I have a photo of the setup and will post it when I can find it.

Re: Today in pictures

Below is the spec I just found of the thing.

Radio Shack TRS-80 Model III
Introduced: July 1980
Price: US $699 base model
US $2495 w/ 32K, dual drives.
CPU: Zilog Z-80, 2.03 MHz
RAM: 4K, 48K max.
Ports: Cassette tape, expansion, serial
Display: 12-inch B/W monitor: 64 X 16 text
Strorage: 0, 1, or 2 internal 178K floppy drives
External cassette @ 500 / 1500 baud
OS: BASIC in ROM, TRS-DOS on disk

I gave it to a youngster to play around on years ago and wish I had it today.
Tandy also made a portable PC with a five inch screen and two 3.5 floppy disks.
It had a built in telephone modem. Like waiting for Christmas if you got a connection. I sold that for a tenner, wish I still had that also.
probably get a fiver for them both but they were fun.

Things let that are very collectable, probably worth a lot more than you think.

This just goes to show that there are good and compassionate people in the world.
It is heartwarming to read of all the help extended to this father in his time of sad loss.
I would have hoped the nursing staff would have taken memorial pictures of this baby without all the medical paraphernalia.

It`s in America, so although it shouldn`t really come into it perhaps their medical insurance didn`t cover something like that.

Re: Today in pictures

Probably best get back to Yesterday In Pictures before we get told off -

1. The suns not doing me any favours in this pic.
2. In camera colour pop.
3. Hello Kitty.
4. Read some good things about the software that stitched this (Hug-in), my first go with it.
5. Racing to get fed.
6. Best way to view BFC`s, as toys (in camera as well)
7. A still stretch of canal

It is a common courtesy when a baby dies to provide memento's(photo's with siblings if this is deemed appropriate by the parents, foot prints and hand prints, wristband and cot card) These things should, in all truth, not inflate the costs and they make a huge difference to the grieving process for the parents and the extended family.
In real terms is is the equivalent of laying out the body of an adult...and the last kind act that you can, as a nurse, perform.

This looks a very familiar bit of the canal......it is the stretch that I walk very often.
If our paths cross.....I nearly always have a deep salmon pink camera bag...please will you make yourself known to me?

The Cat looks like my Pasha....except it can't be her, there is a smudge of white under its nose......Pasha doesn't have that.

Mate, you're talking to the clueless here! It all sounds very involved.

I could just see it like this - much moodier.

Re: Today in pictures

Well.....I downloaded the PicsArt app and have spent some time today playing around with it.
I have mainly used it to make collages of pictures.
Now I am not sure if the files will upload to here....but I am going to give it a try......if not then I will have to try and resize.
This is still a 'work in progress'.
