Well, I never.... A Greylag eh?
Is that species more welcome than the Canadian ones?
And no, the frame did not have lockable doors......that would have made it a cage.

Farnborough Primary School in Southport.
I think there were two classes on the play area. They looked to be having a lot of fun.
The pictures were taken in Southport this afternoon.
They looked like my Grandaughter's school uniform. I just wondered if they had gone on a school trip
Not sure of the blue one, although it does have certain characteristics of the cornflower, so perhaps a sub species, and the "Orchid" is Betony (herb), Orchids have rosette type leaves close to the ground and send a flower spike up with just a flower on, Betony pushes up a flower with smaller leaves at the flowering point.
Good job you revisited your walk with a camera, those Common Blue Butterflies, I have been stalking those for over a year and never managed to get a solid shot of them, so two gold stars on the wall chart.
I used to have Culpepper's herbal and gave it away to my Botany department when I moved over here - stupid thing to do. I now have a pocket guide to flowers and one for trees but I never carry them with me - shall have to remedy that. I love the flower head of the Betony. Not sure what the flowers on the long stalk in the stream are either - close up they have alook of lilies - will try to get a better photo.
As to that flutterby - it had some slight damage to a wing tip which was slowing it down I think - either that or it liked having it's picture taken. They are such a beautiful colour and are usually flitting about too fast!

Sad news about sally. She was stung by a bee in the eye (they think) and the eye became infected. Vets gave some drops and despite medical attention . Sally was limping last week same side as the eye. Made an appointment and same day made a lot of noise in hutch. By time mum got to hutch sally had died.
Well. I went for a walk on my dinner and found a family. The cygnets seemed very friendly and came up to me. I can't imagine how and why someone could poison them... Some good close ups
