1. Cut Lane as it goes over the canal, notice the "hump" that looks like a spoil pile.
2. The direction we are heading.
3. Our journey so far.
4. I'm just sitting watching flowers in the rain, hey...... that would make a good song.
5. A small oasis of habitation set in farmland.
6. Now that's a heavy duty barge.
7. Time to turn around.
8. A long gone railway, all that remains is the bridge that the trains went over and the underpass linking a farmer with his livestock. On a day like today, wet and still, you can hear the distant whistle of the steam train as it leaves our conciousness and heads for the only place it can be observed, photographs, and if you really strain the cerebellum you can still evoke the smells of steam, metal on metal, coal, and warm oil, with the merest hint of a Woodbine.
Lovely - I went along on this walk while staying with my friends in Rishton in May. Sunday morning stroll with their cocker spaniel, Patch - lots of people around then - it's a nice walk.

I thought I'd better get us back on thread before we get our wrists slapped
So I just stepped out onto my patio and snapped a few with my ipad. Don't know how these will come out, but here goes! We've just had a thunder storm complete with hail, so everything is dripping wet. Little Miss Pris is growing as you can see.
She is coming on really well - such beautiful markings on her coat. Hope she's calmed down a bit for you by now.
One day you'll be in the same position as me where I have to hunt all over the house because I haven't seen my old cat Teo since she came to eat in the morning. She's taken to sleeping most of the day on top of my son's wardrobe and you can't see her until she decides to stir and flick an ear!

Back to the parking debate - we also have to pay on the hospital carpark and through much of town these days. Only a few more peripheral carparks remain free and they are usually full so you go round them a few times to find a space.
Went into Cremona this morning to pick up a book I'd ordered and have a wander round the market. Didn't have any money on me (son tapped me for my last euros yesterday evening) so I decided to park free and walk in. New potatoes, hard-backed book, veg, fruit and fresh fish later... on my way back to the car I was cursing in the heat and wished I'd parked nearer as it felt like my arms were dropping off...you can't win!
Photos of the market to be sorted which I snapped as I wandered and shopped!

Have just got through my morning's 'Happy snapping' - first set of 10 - hope they give a feel of the market in Cremona. It is a very bustling large market which is on twice a week (Wed. & Sat) and covers the three main squares in the center of town, Piazza del Duomo, Piazza Stradivari and Piazza della Pace.
(I saved about 50 of those I took so will probably post one more set of 10 tomorrow).

You capture the market atmosphere beautifully, Diane
It's the right way up for me Turtle, only thing wrong is the lack of grog and grub on the table.
Maybe you have already wined and dined that's why your picture was sideways.
