A very lucky shot, taken by chance as I wandering around my garden, spreading extra hot strong chilli powder to keep the cat away who thinks he has the right to destroy all the good work my gardener has done.. The little Panasonic in my pocket, as always, was quick on the draw.

Lovely shots though and I agree it was quite a moving experience....shame I didn't have the batteries for my camera charged, all my pics looked liked they'd been taken using a potato with a cataract

I was concentrating on trying to get passable low light shots and making sure the camera was on the right setting for that.

I wish I had known you were somewhere in that crowd....I would have made myself known.

Some of my shots looked like they had been taken with that sort of camera too....the potato with cataracts.

Night shots can be very tricky M, it usually takes me 3-4 shots before I find the right exposure setting (suppose that's one of the joys of being a amateur).

Yes, I tend to make myself more elusive than gpicks kingfishers but it would of been nice to say hello etc

It doesn't really help that my own vision is impaired in low light(I have cataracts) so sometimes I don't know what kind of shots I have taken, until I get them back home and on the big screen.
I had quite a few 'delete me' shots......In fact I am fairly satisfied with the shots that I did get....all things considered.

3) This monster caterpillar dared to walk across the path in front of us. I was
about 2 inches long.

Don't know Margaret but I've never seen one that big

That's the only one I know that is that big.....it has the right colouring, but can't see all the markings

The markings I can see on Franks pic look more like that one.

Very hard to tell M, there's a few that look so similar, it's hard to tell unless you know your markings etc (I'm no expert).
I only suggested that one because I know someone that keeps them (when he finds them) as 'pets', he keeps them in old sweet jars in his garage and enjoys studying the transformation stage (each to their own I suppose).
