Well, I set out to go on the bus to Southport. I missed my jaunt on the pier on Saturday.
I was thwarted. The 10.20 bus from Clayton didn't get into Preston until 12.10......I had missed the X2 that I wanted to get so i deemed in not worth the going and stayed in Preston. No pictures...I just looked round the Flea Market and the shops.
So missed my sea air again!

ive been lucky with the butterflies this year Margaret .. countryfile gave away packets of wildflower seeds and I got one and now that the wildflowers have grown and flowering the butterflies have been attracted to them .. ive seen at least 2 or 3 a day fluttering around. Today I was lucky I had the camera in my hand when I saw them and managed to get the photos ..
As I mentioned the other day, a couple more from our "Trekkerish" week-end.
Sunshine, blue sky - Ideal for perfectly serviceable Airyplanes to be buzzing about - So why, oh why, jump out? - Meanwhile back on Terra Firma, household appliances for the modern busy Mum who happens to live on a farm - Size, really is important ...... for comparison - A Borgward/Büssing one of only 165 produced - Aah, Fallow Deer grazing.
I ventured into my garden today, first fresh air for five days, to try to get a photo of the butterflies around the "budlia?" tree but they were too high for me so when this little chap invited me to take his photo I obliged him. He flew away before I had time to get his email address so I can't send him a copy.
Hope you are Ok Russell.....not usually confined to Barracks.....not the glasshouse I hope

Not the glass house Margaret. I started with some sort of bug and everything I tried to eat bounced straight back up, even tablets with a sip of water. I strained my ribs and back in the process and am not properly up and about yet,I have eaten rice pudding and a bit of fruit plus lots of non alcoholic liquid. Apart from the cleaners not a soul has passed through the door, its been hard work but I battled through.
I am gagging for a pint, I may try a can tonight I have a few in the fridge.

Today in Pictures, is really a week in pictures, a week when 28 hours per day had to be shoved into a 24 hour slot, but come hell or high water I managed an hour out with two dogs (1 a babysitting job) and my camera, probably the only way I have kept my sanity, I even managed to be out in the downpour today which resulted in me wetting my knickers.
1. Huncoat Colliery, this teasel is growing on what was once the line in and out for the coal by rail.
2. Dean Clough reservoirs, coming in from the pines.
3. Same location, just a bit further down.
4. Top end of the Millennium Baby Woods.
5. Still in the woods, wickthing on a Ragwort.
6. Altham, a walk toward the canal between the motorway and the industrial estate.
7. The Coppice, a must see sea of Heather.
8. A few strides from the monument and this appears.
9. And back to Dean Clough again, this time the bottom end just of Goldacre Lane.
10. Looking down the valley to Pendle Hill, when up Pendle this valley stands out, and the water reflects the sky.

Him indoors is starving so I have to get a move on and post my first set from Lake Garda - more folk doing the things they do, this time by the lake... (Will catch up all the rest of your posts later or I'll be in trouble )

I can see I've got a bit of catching up to do, and will enjoy looking at all the great photos that have been uploaded that I've missed over the last few days.
I went on a Gal Pal's fun weekend up on Pigeon Lake, and these are a few snaps. Miss Pris, aka the Furry Ratbag, makes any computer work a trial these days. She's all over the keyboard and howls at the door if I don't let her in. Hence I've got photos ready to upload, but never get around to it somehow!
There's an osprey nest on top of the pole in one of the shots, I'm just sorry I didn't have a decent camera on me. But the humming birds made up for that - lot's of fun watching them duck and dive!
