Some great pictures there.
I like the one of the children swinging on the street lamp.
That's my personal fave too M (just something about it) it seems to perfectly capture the spirit of the kids from days gone by.Like other Shirley Baker photographs they are all very clear, direct and strong images .

I also like the one with the washing hung across the street......you can't imagine that happening can you?
I remember scenes like those portrayed....very much the era of my growing up.
Maybe that is why I like them so much....they take me back.
We might not have had much money, but we did see life.

On a nice day like today we let Max choose were to go. We wrote three different walks on three pieces of paper and asked him to bring one. He chose Longridge Fell with lunch at the Eagle and Child Hurst Green
What a clever boy your max is......and some really stunning pics there Frank.

At last, a walk out with the dogs when it`s not dark or raining.
1. Walking through Clayton fields.
2&3. A buzzard being chased off by crows
4. A friendly horse
5. Basking in the sunshine
6&7. A cute little tree rat in The Woodlands.
8. Duke taking a dip
9. Daisy`s nicked Dukes stick
10. A swan on the canal
Yesterday afternoon I took myself off down Rishton Bottoms.
I wanted to see if I could spot the Kingfishers.....well yes I could, but they were far to fast for me to capture.
The only thing I managed to capture were some bovines.
These were not the fighting commando bovines...they were just cowardly cows.
As I got closer, they ran away.....mooing 'no publicity...no pictures'.
I didn't see anything much worth snapping......I got muddy and wet,(though not Davemac wet)trod in a pasture pie that was hiding and these are all I have to show for it.

That`s the trouble with wildlife, very uncooperative, but at least you got a glimpse. There have been many times I`ve been down there and seen nothing (still a lovely walk though), but when you do, it`s well worth it.
Some pics from today's exercise walk - the leaves they are a changin'!
Also a one from our condo's meet your neighbours BBQ (good lads these - they helped by setting up, flipping burgers and putting stuff and burgers away. I was amused by their choice of T-shirts!) and a few more from the Limehouse Trail.
Love those t-shirts! Great colour the autumn Acer leaves - my husband is a fan of Canadian Holstein breeding - says his heart is in the shape of an Acer leaf (like the Canadian flag!)
