I have been down Rishton bottoms twice recently and see precious little worth snapping(apart from heifers).

Must have just missed you Dave, I heard a couple of gunfire shots as I was walking back along the canal.
I did notice someone else in the distance with a tripod and a few kids, but too far for my crossed eyes to focus on.

I think a photographic get together is a good idea, but what gets me to wondering is why when all the photographers on here are wandering about with gay abandon do we not bang into one another all the time.

I saw him as well.

I don't think that a better camera is always the answer.
Sometimes it is just being very lucky with the subject and having a good eye to capture it to the best advantage.

What camera do you have now and what can you not do with it?
I've only got a Fuji finepix bridge cam (and Iphone) which I thought were ok, after seeing your pics I'm envious of the quality (mine doesn't capture the detail) that one of the dog in the field would make a cracker in B+W....well done

Rhos Y Llan this morning.
"Le Grande Fromage" was sunbathing and couldn't give a flying fish for our intrusion, the others not so sure.
I am envious.....it looks beautiful.
You would not believe it was mid October.
Stunning shots. Well done!

Took my cab out for the graveyard shift ... the guys who usually drive it are off for Thanksgiving .... Happy Thanksgiving by the by. I actually remembered to toss my camera into the glove compartment and took these. A few of the Alexander Henry (it's the big red thingy with "Alexander Henry" written on it.) Used to be a coast guard ship, but is now part of the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes, and is also a bed and breakfast. Then there are a couple of plants. The Turneresque one is the sun coming thru the morning mist on Lake Ontario ... it was a cool one last nite; so, there was a lot of mist around on the lake and in the low-lying marshy areas.
Today, an early morning walk up a foggy Pendle Hill.
I love number 7.
