Re: Today in pictures
Yesterday in Pictures, a walk on the wild side, along the top and back down the other wild side. (Hapton Scouts and quarry)
1. Turn the fan on will you.
2. I dont know where the water comes from, but the level never seems to change.
3. This is the rock that helped build the town and pave the streets.
4. Stone from times past and windmills of tomorrow.
5. There are 6 in these fields, thats half the number that cover Oswaldtwistle Moor.
6. The old firing range, these are the mechanisms that were used to hoist the targets into the air.
7. Looking in the direction of "Accy".
8. The farmhouse in the first picture, this time under heavy clouds.
9. And finally Accrington bathing in the last rays of the sun.

Re: Today in pictures
Another yesterday in pictures.
1. A view taken from St Mary's Burial ground.
2. Same location but from just off Bell Lane.
3. Not many flowers remain, but the Fuschia is still giving it a go.
4. Yet another view from the burial ground.
5. Autumn colours against a blue sky.
6. No flies on you.
7. A view from under Pilkington Bridge.
8. On the way to Bell Lane, and the car.

Numbers 2 and 3 do it for me. I prefer to see landscapes without the windmills, but can appreciate the need for 'green' power. The use of windmills is controversial here too.

Really lovely - thank you! The weather here in southern Ontario has been topsy turvey this week. Minus 12 and snow one minute, and plus 12 degrees with dangerous winds at the moment. Your Lancashire landscapes are a joy to behold

Re: Today in pictures
A few pics today, first two are from Friday, just missed an amazing sunrise in first pic, by the time I`d found somewhere to pull over it was behind the clouds , last two are today on a misty Marsden Moore.

I rather like the windmills (turbines), close up I find them impresive, and I have been right up to them on "Ossy" moors, although they do tend to dominate the skyline around here.

The forcast here is to take a turn for the worst, they say wet stormy weather is heading this way, but it never reaches the extremes you seem to have to live with.
