As you can see, Spring hasn't arrived in southern Ontario yet. For davemac's photo competition theme, I'm having to rely on past photos
Yet the signs are there that it won't be long now - a balmy 8 degrees later this aft!
Spring is here Not much of a topic for us, eh; unless a few pics of garbage in the slowly shrinking snowbanks will do. We should gang up and get our own back. If one of us wins we could go for topics like, "cutest baby skunk", or "a bear I met in the park", "coons on my lawn", "a coyote I bumped into on my way to the bar", .... and let's not forget "SNOW."

I`m sure there`s a Jeremy Clarkson joke in there somewhere, but I can`t for the life of me think of one.
Spring is coming. My lawn ... if you listen carefully, you can hear the grass growing. Still have popsicles. My neighbour's swing set. He'll be out there sipping on a cold brewskie anytime now.

In my quest to find the ever elusive troll,I had a stroll up through coal pit holme (aka priestly clough) Starting off at the site where Woodnook mill was before recharging one's batteries at the remains of the old shoe mine at Baxenden.
1. A once proud boundary wall and enclosure now just provides a boundary marker. Pendle Hill is peppered with these stones, often walked passed and never noticed.
2. This was once a cart track that headed up to the Craggs.
3. All trees require is a niche to get a foothold.
4. Churn Clough to the left and Sabden just beyond, further on the hills that surround Hyndburn.
5. Some crumbling structures, possibly for penning sheep, or shepherds refuge. The Craggs can be seen off to the right at the top.
6. A hidden boundary stone for Padiham and Hapton Local Board 1892.
7. In Summer this is green as far as the eye can see.
8. With hills on either side it is very quiet, no obtrusive car noise, all that can be heard is the stream as it bounces off the stones that line its base, in the distance the occasional sheep can be heard, but most noise is coming from the grouse as they sit among the heather on the next hill.
9. The stillness is very seductive, but time is getting on, and so must I.
10. You looking at me.
Slightly more fur than feather from todays walkies.
1. An impatient Daisy.
2&3. Dipper on the river.
4. A trio of Roe Deer.
5. Lapwing, xoming in to land.
6. Duke, sniffing out the deer.
7. They went that way, but he lost the scent at the stream.
8. A lovrly German Sherpherd.
9. But not very friendly, just doing his job.
10. What`s your problem though.
