Today was a trip to a new "Drinks Market" dealing mainly with Beers from the region, then a gallop over to Oberstdorf, touristy destination & one of the sites for the "4 Schanzen Tournee" (4 Ski Jump competition).
Them Jihadis have definitely got this paradise thing totally wrong ..... This, is Paradise proper - One happy little chappie & long suffering Wifey - Oberstdorf - Local arts & crafts Market - Para glider over the Nebelhorn - Schattenberg Ski jump with the Schattenberg in the background - The Nebelhorn - The streets of Oberstdorf - "Altes Rathaus" The old Town hall - finally on our way home through the village of Reid, rolling pasture land "Alm" & another big rock.
(Please note, names of said rocks may be slightly off as my knowledge of the local geography is crap & my so called "local guide & knowledgeable one" the wife! Can't tell the difference between Foghorn, leghorn, Nebelhorn, Fellhorn )
Number 9 is very Hannah Spyri.....Heidi springs to mind immediately.
Toasted cheese, goats....You get the picture.
One of my favourite childhood books.

Another bob across to Austria for this little stoater - The hire car, a Nissan Juke as the Galaxy is proper poorly - The Alps seen from the Austrian side - Tittmoning "Burghauser Tor" basically the city gates - No, no idea what it's supposed to mean but it looks quite impressive - Tittmoning "Markt platz" - The "Burg" front gate - Burg Tittmoning outer wall - The Burg back gate - The "Polnachgrab" a little stream running through a gorge alongside the Burg.

Aye it is that Ma, also goats, nuns, men in uniform & some big fat geezers blowing on horns or yowdelling!
After Sundays disappointment, we headed back out to Hohenschwangau to go on the "Tegelberg Bahn" only to be fobbed off again as it was to windy! So we headed off towards Füssen then onto Rettenberg & Sonthofen to sate my other passions "Beer".
Hohes Schloß Füssen - "Allgäu Kaserne" Home of the "Gebirgsjäger" (Mountain troops) wall painting - Allgäu kaserne with the "Edelweiss" to the right of the main gate - B roads don't get much better than this, B309 looking back towards Füssen - Zötler Brauerei situated between Kranzegg & Rettenberg in Allgäu - Copper pots at Zötler - Sonthofen Marktstraße - Hirsch Brauerei - Bielenberg SSE of Sonthofen - Not sure about Heidi, but possibly Lardy & the Grimlin .... Yodell- oh-de ho!
Our jaunt took us to Sachsenkam & Kloster Reutberg today as the morning was taken up with picking up the repaired ford skip, taking back the hire car & then the Witchity one & her Mum were off to get their heads done at the barbers.
A light aperitif with a marvellous view - Ah, Luncheon is served - An afternoon constitutional to burn off all those calories - Kloster Reutberg - The archetypal view associated with the area - Young Fallow deer - Older Fallow deer with a couple of Bucks - (2x) Views of Sachsenkam village.
I don't know what lunch was,but it looks damn good.

Brauerpfand'l Ma, loosely translated "Brewers pan" Pork medallions in a mushroom cream sauce, home made fried onions & home made "Käsespätzle" (cheese noodles? Mini dumplings)
Today is actually yesterday, and you know what sort of a day yesterday was, but despite the crazy start we set off for Cleveleys, and it was an sunny afternoon if somewhat breezy .
