Tuesday saw us at Parsdorf where the Witchy one (& Mum) spent A WHOLE HOUR ....... shopping for a Dirndl (a new frock) leaving me & the mongling to sulk in a hot car
Then it was off to Herrmansdorf (Community farm with beasts, craftshops, cafes & a farm/local produce shop) for dinner, then the obligatory visit to Aying for us tea!

With the abundance of swallows on the canal, I thought I`d try and get a few shots of them.
A couple from yesterday, rest from today.

Wednesday & a little me time! We got to go to a couple of Breweries after making me suffer while she was frock shopping.
Out to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, then over the Alps into the Austrian Tirol (taking in the Starkenberg brewery) then back to Germany via Mittenwald (surprise, they've got a Brewery too! ). And finally back to the Dragons Den, to sit in the garden, unwind & sup Beer ..... Aahh.

Thursdays jaunt, Braunau am Inn(Austria), Simbach am Inn(Germany), then up to the Hacklberg Brauerei at Passau for luncheon. On the way home we passed by the Flughafen München, "Franz Josef Strauß" pulled over onto a little farm track, let the mongy out for a gallop & did a spot of spotting for Airyplanes.
one of Braunaus city jiggers (the wheel was from a brewers delivery cart that used to deliver to a pub in the said covered jigger) - Brauna from Simbach - Simbach am Inn (twinned with Skipton) x2 - Hacklberg Brauerei in Passau x4 - two Airyplanes on approach to FJS München.
While the subject matter makes my flesh creep(i am not a big fan of insects of any kind).....I found myself rivetted by the process and the end results are just about as amazing as anything I have ever seen.
I think I know one twelve year old who will be just fascinated by this clip

Oh, yes...I do admire his patience and dedication...and the results are spectacular.
I wish it were closer...I know my daughters lad would love to visit and exhibition like that.......and I would screw up my courage and take him.

Friday, last chance to do stuff, so to avoid traffic & tourists we stayed local. A trip back to Aying to pick up some dainties from the Brauerei, midday baggin at the "Wirtshaus", then an amble round the village in a feeble attempt to kill off calories (for her, me, I'm just fine whatever the waistline ). That done, into the Jallopy & across to FJS Flughafen to have a look at some Airyplanes (AGAIN!)
Aying Brewery - Lady Smug in the Bier Garten - Ah, a light luncheon, Obadzda with rye bread for Witchity & 2 Par Wiener for me - A picturesque local abode - Ah, the impetuosity of youth! Some locals having just married, about to set of on their lifes journey together ...... in a VW Camper! - JU-52 (X3) - DC-3 - Lockheed "Super Constellation"
Saturday & the long haul home (640 km & 7.5hrs travelling) we made a couple of detours due to horrendous road works & we even put in a final couple of touristy stops at Holledau & Franken.

Gardens laid out between the City walls & moat - The "Zent Turm" with "Pest Tor" so named due to victims of the plague being carried through this portal to the local "Black death" burial pit - Julius Echter Platz looking to the "Wein Berg" - "Mainbernheim Tor" city defensive gates & walls leading onto the road to the village of Mainbernheim - Looking down the "Lange Gasse" - Vines in the streets - The "Wein Berg" (x2).
