I never could find that ruddy castle, was it in the field behind the houses or does it refer to the castle that was up Hambledon hill near them awful wind turbines?

There is not much to see as the castle was really a fortified manor house, I once found the remains and was underwhelmed by my find, most of the foundations are under a field on the Hapton side of the border. The only thing still visible then was a couple of foundation stones and probably overgrown by now. To the right of the woods is a pylon beyond that towards the allotments what I believe to be the remains of the manor house.
This thing is about one and half inches diameter and I haven't got a clue what it is.
It is the only one like it in my garden.
Can anybody enlighten me please?

Yes I'm sure Davemac will know
I'm betting it's a Fuschia (sp?)
I used to call the flowers fairies when I was a young lass, because of the appearance resembling frilly skirts and dangling legs.
I'm hoping Dave will know what the pod was, the flowers are certainly fuschia.
The pod was the only one I saw but there are lots of flowers. It's gone now.

Could it be a seed pod?
However if it's gone now that might suggest it's a baby triffid? According to John Wyndham they can walk!
