Before leaving Newcastle today I had some time to kill but also had early check out so my bags was with me. So asked at the castle gate if they would look after my luggage whilst I took the tour, they said they would and I went walking around the castle. Picked up another gift to go with the ones from Brighton and London for my mother who was diagnosed with liver cancer a few weeks ago.
1-2 accy from train station.

Too wet to venture out.
Now i know that Dave's maxim is 'there's no such thing as bad weather...only the wrong clothes'...but it is too wet to turn a hound out.
Still it has given me time to do some cutting and gluing.
A couple of masculine birthday cards...with verses to match.
It was himselfs birthday on Friday(he got the DIY card) and it is my nephews birthday next Wednesday(he gets the shiny bike card and verse)

Outrageous! How is it you Wimming can get away with that? If any bloke had given their Missus a Birthday card with a cooker, washing machines & hoover on, they' be fighting with the hound for the blanket in the dog house & probably fighting over the food bowl too .... indefinitely!

Yes, of course you are right son, but my other half is blooming notorious for spending hours and hours out the back dismantling pallets for burning... So it isn't really a DO it Yourself card, but a DESTROY it Yourself card...he was quite chuffed with it, especially the verse.
And you have no idea how long it took me to stamp, colour and fussy cut those tiny tools out to go on the card.I guess you have no qualms about the shiny bike card then? : D

Oh, and ANY card that he got for me would be a surprise. It would not have had anywhere near as much thought or effort put into the choosing of it either.
He is not known for getting me cards and presents.

Not at all Ma, in fact the DIY one was pretty good too, but it just goes to show the "Men are from Mars & Women are from Venus" maxim certainly rings true.

Took the hounds for a walk in Rhyddings Park this afternoon after the rain stopped to see what they have been up to on the Heritage Lottery works. Looking good so far and they are getting on with it.

I visited southport today,ainsdale/arnsdale something like that,it was very quite,I thought I'd try the detecting stick on the sands but it was full of cans, ring pulls and bottle tops ).
Just up the road from me Dad's house that (15-20 mins), you should try further down by Ainsdale nature reserve "Local legend" is there's a crashed German bomber somewhere in the dunes.
