Monday 12 June & I was persuaded to become a "Pedestrian!" (Shock, Horror! ) for the day. The jallopy was to be left parked at home (A somewhat daunting prospect for a vehiclist like me, feets is for pushing pedals & as for walking somewhere???) & I was introduced to the vagaries, novelty & dubious pleasure of "Buying a ticket" then travelling on the München, U-Bahn & S-Bahn, with all kinds of strange people going to all kinds of strange places.
Viktualienmarkt where we had brekky (x2) - Neues Rathaus in Marienplatz & a close up of the Glockenspiel figures (x2) - Karlstor - Neuhauser strasse looking to the twin domes of the Marienkirche - The Hirmer building, built 1912-14 with the Marienkirche domes in the background - The "Olympiasee" part of the 1972 "Olympia park" built for the Summer Olympics (see what all this walking does for you, the Witchitty one & a couple of kids dunking their feet & poisoning the wildlife (x2) - The Isar, running through the "English Garden".
yes, you got a cracking day for it too...though it started off a bit iffy.
It was such a pleasure to be out I stayed probably an hour longer than I would normally, I did take a bottle of dandelion and burdock, which I was glad of.
