Have a look at the top of the page, there's a search box, have a look for uploading pictures & you'll be presented with numerous threads on how to get your pictures on site without distorting the parameters of the page.

Re: Today in pictures
I think most of us have done something like this in the past.
I know I certainly have.
I posted instructions on how to put thumbnails on here not so very long ago.
As for getting professional results...yes what you say is true...but I think the beauty of this thread is...Everyone feels that they can post their pictures here.
I also think that to be a decent photographer you have to have a 'good eye'...the ability to pick a subject and capture it so that it makes people go 'wow'.
There are a few members on here with that ability in spades...and I often post of my envy of their shots.
It is also about having the opportunity, of being in the right place at the right time with your camera at the ready.

Today in pictures
Does your one a day have a set topic for each day? This is where it went pear shaped when I had a go.

Re: Today in pictures
A few of the subjects photographed by Ryewolf90 are reminiscent of what another member used to post about, e.g. the con club, I think he was called Ewoodsambo3 though he did change his name several times, if it is the same lad his photography has improved with age, some of these pics are excellent.

No set subject, just what I happen to see each day. Obviously some days might dictate what I'd try and photograph. Today, was nice and sunny, though a little windy, so I was out bug hunting.

Yes, while I am not fond of bugs, but I like to see what other people find interesting to photograph....and your pictures are very good.

Re: Today in pictures
So managed to get the thumbnail thingy working, so the other bugs from today
1 Hawker Dragonfly - just much closer
2 Ichneumon Wasp - most likely female extesorius
3 Speckled Wood
4 Shield Bug
5 Ladybirds - don't usually see them in groups like this
6 Lacewing larvae - fercious predators - the debris on it is the thinks it's eaten
7 Mystery - other than there's a Ladybird in there

Re: Today in pictures
I love the ladybird picture.
The shield bug gives me the creeps....quite like the dragonfly picture too...so perhaps bugs could grow on me.(well, only the pictures of them, I mean)
Oh and well done for cracking the thumbnail thing.

Re: Today in pictures
Managed a couple of camera pics tonight..
1. really happy to get this, firstly because its my first of the milky way, secondly its a 13 sec hand held exposure so pretty happy there isn`t a lot of shake.
2. Something that would eat Ryewolfs bugs for breakfast.

Re: Today in pictures
Nice one on the lizard - speaking of which I saw my first ever Common Lizard this year, at the back of Pendle Hill of all places.

Re: Today in pictures
Thanks, I saw a few lizards today, I think this one is a Gran Canaria giant lizard.

Re: Today in pictures
Todays OADED - 15th Sept 2017
Troilus luridus - Bronze Shield Bug Final instar - with it's dinner. If you're a bit squeamish when it comes to bugs (or just about to eat), you might want to give this one a miss.
I've photographed Shield Bugs many times over the last 3 years, but never knew what they ate or how... I guess that is now answered... also another first for me..
