Advice wanted re an old Olympus camera

Hi. "Found" an old camera in the house over the weekend. It was pushed to the back of a drawer.
I used to take some good photos around Accrington with it, you could choose between a normal size, medium or landscape. The camera is an Olympus NEWPIC Zoom 30-60mm. I have just been to Garth Dawsons for a film only to be told that six months ago they stopped supplying the films for this particular camera.
Wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions. Might I be able to buy a compatabile film?????
Thanks

Have a look on Amazon.
I looked at a camera website and it said that this camera takes APS film....Amazon have APS film.......have a look at them, and see if they are the type you need Atarah.
Hope this helps.

Do you mean Garth Dawson doesn't supply it any more or it has been discontinued? If it's still made, or perhaps even if it isn't, you should be able to buy online. Try searching for "buy camera film".

I think maybe that Garth Dawsons have stopped getting the film in as there are films to be had both on Amazon and other suppliers in the UK...have posted links.

Re: Advice wanted re an old Olympus camera

If you do buy any film make sure you check the use by date as old film has a limited shelf life before the chemicals start to "go off".
Obviously if its new film then you should be OK, but If they don't make it anymore and you have to get old stock, check it.
I'm sure it will still be made though because there are still a lot of photographers who like to use the old 35mm film and developing system.

Enquire about getting it developed as well..that may be tricky...... Try Accy photographic club maybe...

Try E Bay as well.....

Phil

Toss it in the bin and stick to what you usually use. APS never caught on and has a smaller film area than 35mm so the picture quality should be lower than 35mm

Yep toss em all and go digital so you can loose your pictures like all those people to stupid to back them up somewhere safe.

The trouble is where is safe?

Re: Advice wanted re an old Olympus camera

I use 3 places, Flickr, hard copies on DVD in alternative location( work desk ) 2 laptops at home..

but yes, I've rescued hundreds of "important" photos from SD cards that have lost their partition tables for people who have no idea about backups
