Re: Another Scam

Can we just have an agreement to stop wasting bandwidth that people will email you offering you millions or they will ask you to log on to internet banking/ebay/paypal etc They are all scams, lets stop posting everytime we get one of these. I get probably 20-30 a week from one source or another, I'd be never off Accyweb if I was to post up every one[1].

[1] Yes, I know I'm never off Accyweb anyway but you get my point.

Re: Another Scam

Anyone who has the first idea about spam/scam email knows thats impossible. If the mighty US of A White house can't stop it with all their resources then what chance does any individual. You can set up and run a mail server anywhere in the world in seconds. Likewise it can 'disappear' just as quickly and be as untraceable as a PAYG phone.

I have heuristic email filters that hide it from me(learning as it goes what is spam and what isn't from the odd false positive or one that slips through that I mark correctly)

Spam, Scams etc have always and will always be there, its a profession thats almost as old as the ladies of the night.
